The local area of West-Friesland is a region North of Amsterdam between Hoorn and Enkhuizen. These two cities are known for their involvement in the golden times of the Dutch East India Company. Hoogkarspel is one of the typical West-Frisian villages between these two cities. You will stay in a varied landscape of fruit gardens, meadows, flower fields and traditional villages; we are within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and 10 min. from train station Hoogkarspel.

In the region there are numerous possibilities for a day trip. Take the train and within 45 minutes you can walk around the cheese market in Alkmaar or the world famous canals of Amsterdam.
Rent a bike at Agapanthus and discover the rich past of the golden age and Dutch East India Company, take a day trip to one of the three historic cities; Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik with countless historical musea. The authentic steam railway between Hoorn and Medemblik is an absolute must.
Also a visit to and a walk on the North Sea Beach is one of the possibilities during your stay.
